The Majatica

The oil mill is located in San Mauro Forte (Matera), a small town in Basilicata, which stands on a hill at around 565 m. above sea level.

Our single-varietal organic extra virgin olive oil from Majatica is the final result of a work activity that we follow throughout the year, which excludes the use of synthetic chemical products such as fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides and fungicides for fertilizing the land, for the fight against weeds, animal parasites and plant diseases.

La Majatica oil is an award-winning Slow Food presidium.

It is a monovarietal oil obtained from organic olives of the Majatica variety, cold pressed within 24 hours of harvesting.

The olives are harvested 2-4 weeks before ripening to obtain an oil rich in polyphenols.
