Iacovazzo estates

Authenticity, purity and tradition in every wine! These are the three cornerstones on which the philosophy of Giuseppe and Carlo Iacovazzo is based, who on their estates, located in Basilicata, in the province of Matera, grow fine vines rich in tradition, from which they produce wines of different types, with a unique aroma and unmistakable. The wines of Tenute Iacovazzo stand out for their refined and intense taste, offering a vast range of aromas and sensations, colors and flavors that make what was once referred to as the "Nectar of the Gods" important.

The Vineyards

The company is located in Contrada Saldone, a few kilometers from the Ionian coast of Metapontino, better known as "The little California of the South" for its prized agricultural production. The vineyards enjoy the Mediterranean climate typical of the lands that once constituted the ancient Magna Graecia and which historians called "Enotria", or "Land of Wine".

The philosophy

Our philosophy starts from the vineyard: only by working carefully in respect of the principles and rhythms of nature and plants is it possible to obtain quality grapes. By embracing the belief in low yields, correct management of the earth's resources, a harvest at correct maturation, we help the terroir to express itself at its best. Thanks to the knowledge of the soil and the vines, to manual pruning plant by plant, we are able to bring grapes into the cellar that give us immense gratification and from these obtain wines that satisfy the customer. Essential in the production of our wines is the optimal cultivation of the vineyards to obtain quality grapes without which it is impossible to obtain excellent wines.
