Masseria Cardillo - Let's EatSud
The Masseria Cardillo winery, located in the heart of Metapontino, on three adjacent hills overlooking the Ionian Sea, an area of great archaeological and landscape interest, and not far from the charming town of Matera.
The company, in addition to being a Relais, immersed in the Lucanian countryside, has a wine-growing and agricultural vocation, with land that extends over approximately 300 hectares of which 25 hectares are under vineyards.
The geological structure of the calcareous soil with the presence of pebbles and gravel, the particularly temperate climate given the proximity to the sea and the succession of fertile valleys and gentle hills make this area very suitable for growing vines.
The cultivated vines are heterogeneous, Primitivo, which is found in two important labels, Baruch and Goj, followed by the DOC Matera Moro with Malandrina, then Aglianico, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fiano and Moscato.
The cellar, which consists of approximately 1000 m2, focuses on cutting-edge machinery and continuous innovation, always using new technologies, as the wine sector is in continuous and constant growth.
Many awards have been received by the various labels produced, including important awards from the Italian Sommelier Association, awards from Gambero Rosso, the important Diploma of Great Mention received from the DOC Matera Moro at Malandrina.
