The gold of the fields

L'Oro dei Campi is located in Grottole, a small village on the Matera hills, from which I learned the importance of living in a place in harmony with nature to live a quality life.

I love my territory and it is thanks to this integration with nature that I have the opportunity to carry on this great passion of mine. I am very grateful to my land!

I approached the world of bees out of pure curiosity when I was a child: I was intrigued by observing them to understand their journeys. I loved spending time observing them during pollination, trying to understand the mechanisms behind this wonderful dance they perform from plant to plant and flower to flower.

As I grew up, this curiosity did not abandon me and immediately caught the eye of my wonderful family: I was encouraged by them to cultivate this passion. In fact, they gave me my first beekeeping book and shortly afterwards they surprised me again by giving me my first swarm of bees!

It is from the love of my family that everything began in Grottole.

From that small cassette, today I have come to own one hundred and fifty. Each of the boxes features eighty to ninety thousand bees. Quite a number, right?
